Kelly entered the forest industry in 1992 as the Watershed Restoration Specialist and Road Engineering Officer with the British Columbia Ministry of Forest.
Kelly went on the become the Road Construction Supervisor for a major timber license holder where he was responsible for the construction, supervision and management of over 800 km’s of winter and high-grade road annually.
Kelly then moved over to Lac La BICHE Alberta where he taught the Forest Technician Program at Portage College.
After 13 years in the north, Kelly and family relocated the south east end of British Columbia where Kelly became the owner and sawyer of Grant & Son’s Mobile Milling . The Grant family has been manufacturing custom made live edge wood products for over eight years which transformed unwanted urban timber into beautiful live edge designs.

Kelly has extensive experience and training in road construction practices, water restoration initiatives, installation of water control devices, erosion control measures, landslide prone training and certifications, domesticated fire and fuel reduction management, Forest recreation and interpretive trail construction, GIS and GPS mapping, and Type II Fire Management Certifications.
